Finding the right place to spend the night for a long layover or a stop over for a couple days or more can be overwhelming, trying to figure out the sweet spot of staying that is easy to get to and not too far from places that you might want to visit.

If you have such dilemma then you’re not alone, we just like you also experience similar situation and this will be our first blog about hotel review and we hope that with this you and your family can make a more informed decision with more confidence. Now let’s start with our first selection in Tokyo, Japan! Most people already know that there are 2 international airports in Tokyo, Japan (If you do not know then now you do 😊).

The first one is Narita Airport and the second is Haneda Airport. Narita is located a bit far away from Tokyo city area (approximately about 80 km or 50 miles) while Haneda is much closer (approximately 30 km or 20 miles), just by the distance if you want to go for a quick tour or visit one area in Tokyo then Haneda is a much better option during a long layover. However this also depends on the airlines that you’re flying with, some only stops at Narita so make sure to check before hand but if your stop is at Haneda then this is for you!

This hotel definitely has a really unique decorations, here you can find so many things that are traditional but also modern which blends nicely and a sight that can give you a WOW factor!

How To Get Here From Haneda Airport

The hotel does have a shuttle bus that will take you from the airport and back, as of this writing here are their schedules and where their stops are.

One of the downside to the shuttle bus is that they are not frequent enough so if you miss one then you have to wait for quite sometime before the next one comes. There is also quite a gap of service between 1pm to 4pm, if your flight arrives close to those hours and you’re out between those hours then you will not be able to use the service.

Another alternative is to take a taxi, since it is close by the cost will be more on the reasonable side since taxi is expensive in Japan which should only be used as last resort unless you have a very big budget and do not mind to spend on taxi rides. In this case the cost is about ¥2,500 plus some surcharge.

The other option that we took that we highly recommend is using the train, Haneda airport station has a train stop (Keikyu Line) that you can take to get to the hotel which is about 2 to 3 stops depending on which terminal of your arrival. The cost is around ¥200 which will be much cheaper than taking a taxi. You will need to get off at Otorii station and the hotel is about 5 minutes walk from there.

Below is our ratings out between 1 to 5 stars with 5 being the best on their categories

Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

People may have different opinion in regards to how good a location is, some would prefer a location closer to the main attraction, others closer the work place, etcetera etcetera. Remember we are reviewing this on the base of a long lay over or a quick stop over, although we wouldn’t mind staying here for a longer period of time.

The location I would say is very good, when traveling to Japan especially in the major cities one of the important factor to consider is getting an accommodation that is close to a train station within walking distance and this hotel fits the bill perfectly.

There are several restaurants nearby aside from the one in the hotel so if you’re not feeling going to far you can go locally.

7-Eleven and Lawson are across the street so if you need to get a quick snack, drink or a meal you don’t have to walk too far.

If you’re renting a car the hotel is located near a high way, they also have plenty of parking spaces. Since we have never rent a car in Japan we can’t really give our input but based on their information:

  • If you’re coming from Tokyo or Yokohama the hotel is located on the left side 200m from Shuto Expressway Haneda route (route 1) Haneda 1C on the way to Kamata.

  • If you’re coming from Haneda airport proceed along route 311 (Kanpachi-dori Ave) towards Kawasaki and Kamata direction, after crossing Anamori bridge and passing under Shuto Expressway, the hotel is on the left side after 200m

Customer Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

One main thing that is very important that can help make your vacation more enjoyable is getting a top service customer service, some do not mind about how good the customer service is as long as the price is cheap and they’re only using the hotel as a sleeping place only anyway but to many it is an important thing. The last thing you want is getting bad service when you’re tired, while this thing looks trivial it can affect your enjoyment of your vacation.

Thankfully the service here is top notch, the check in process is very quick and plenty of their staff speaks English, very friendly and helpful. Our pocket wi-fi was delivered here and it was prepared and given to us when we checked in without having to ask for it.

Cleanliness ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

How clean is the hotel? SPOTLESS! It is one of the cleanest hotel that we ever stayed at, from their lobby, restaurants, lifts and most importantly our room. Whomever is doing the work, that person should get a raise 👍

Value ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

While price can vary depending on so many things along with the time of the year among other stuff, I have to say that this hotel definitely gives an amazing value. The price compared to other nearby hotels when we were there are in a very similar range however other places were not as good as this hotel. It cost us ¥18,000 per room for 2 people in June (tax already included)

Family Friendly ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely! The hotel is definitely family friendly, you have excellent service from the staff and clean room. The entire hotel building is non-smoking which is a huge plus for family traveling with their children and if you’re a smoker there is a designated place behind the hotel on the 1st floor outside area.

They also have baby crib that you can get if you need one but it is very limited and given to first come first serve basis, so make sure to let them know well ahead in advance.

Any children age 12 and under can stay for free if using existing bedding and if you need two rooms they do have a connecting room but again it is very limited so make sure to contact them ahead of time.

Other Notable Facilities That They Offer

  • Currency Exchange - They have currency exchange machine, unfortunately I was not able to check the rate when I was there but if you are in a pinch and really need to get some Yen then you can just do an exchange in the hotel using the machine.

  • Shipping service - The hotel provide a shipping service at a cost (from my understanding that it is only within Japan). They can ship your luggage(s) to your next destination which can be very handy and convenient.

The Downside

With every hotel there is always the pros and cons and aside from the good ratings that we give, we also want to list the downside so that you can make an informed decision should this downside is a deal breaker for you.

  • The hotel does not provide a laundry service so if you need to do a laundry you cannot do it in the hotel, luckily there is a laundry place that is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

  • Only 2 people can stay in one room, if you have 12 or under children you might be able to stay in the same room but double check with the hotel first. They also do not have a triple room so if you’re staying with 3 people then you will need to book 2 rooms

  • Car parking is not free, it will cost ¥1,500 per night for 24 hours but thankfully parking spot should not be an issue.

  • Limited shuttle bus operation hours

  • While this point is not really a downside but there is only 1 train line that is Keikyu line, so if you want to go to certain place you will need to take this line then transfer at other station to get to your destination. It can take more time to get to certain places which means more time needed to get back as well.

Conclusion

Even with all the downside, we still highly recommend this hotel especially if you’re just staying for the night due to long lay over. We had an amazing time during our stay here and definitely will return here again in the future. We will release a video in the near future about this hotel and we will update this posting when we do.

Hopefully after reading all this you will be more informed and if you have stayed here before please do not hesitate to use the review below as we would love to hear about your experience!
